United to hand Berbatov new deal

Manchester United are ready to hand Dimitar Berbatov a bumper new contract.

Berba has 18 months left on his current deal and Sir Alex Ferguson knows there are a host of clubs waiting to swoop for the £30.75m striker.

The striker leads the Premier League scoring charts this season with 14 and will be offered a three-year extension and improved terms on around £120,000 a week, says the Manchester Evening News.

United chiefs are confident negotiations will go smoothly with Berbatov’s representatives already making it clear he wants to end his career with the club.
