Evra targeting clean sheets

Patrice Evra is not happy with Manchester United's inability to keep clean sheets, believing they will not win the league if it continues.

United only conceded 24 goals in the league last term but have leaked five in their last two home games against Manchester City and Sunderland.

While they have claimed four points from these matches, Evra, whose shot flew in off Anton Ferdinand to rescue a point in injury-time against the Black Cats, is not happy.

He said: "I am worried that we are not keeping clean sheets.

"I am not happy about it because if you want to win the league you have to keep clean sheets.

"Last year we only conceded 24 goals. We can't concede more than that this season."

The United defence stood off Darren Bent for the first Sunderland goal and then allowed Kenwyne Jones to win an aerial battle for the second.

"It was a big disappointment," Evra added.

"It is very frustrating because it looked like we had no energy or power. I don't know why. It was just very poor. I don't know if we even deserved a point."
