Park set to make Korea appearance

Sir Alex Ferguson expects local hero Park Ji-sung to play some part for Manchester United in their pre-season clash with FC Seoul on Friday.

Two years ago, Park missed out on the chance of facing a team from his homeland due to a major knee operation, which also ruled him out of that summer's Asia Cup.

Park's appearance will be restricted again, this time because of his lae return to pre-season training, having been given an extended summer break due to his successful World Cup qualifying commitments with South Korea.

But, having seen the rapturous reception Park received at training earlier today, Ferguson is in no mood to disappoint the enthusiastic South Korean faithful a second time.

"A decision will be taken tomorrow (Friday)," confirmed Ferguson.

"But I feel he may be able to play some minutes.

"He has not been with us before now, so he has not done the same preparation as the rest of the players, but I am sure he will play at least part of the time.

"That will be a big lift to the fans in Korea.

"Two years ago he was injured and didn't playbut I think he still got man of the match, which just shows you have fanatical football supporters here."
