Manchester United v Dynamo Kiev Preview

Manchester United welcome Dynamo Kiev to Old Trafford for week 4 of the Champions League on Wednesday evening. UnitedOnline.co.uk interviewed United Online forum member Oli Winton on his thoughts ahead of the game.

1 - With United nearly through to the next round of the Champions League, how will we approach this game?

Caution from regular team members, and all out attack from others with a point to proove.

2 - Fergie has a habit of resting players for games that we should be winning, what is your opinion on this tactic?

There is enough quality in the squad to bring in, for example, Saha, Nani and Carrick and win with changes. He will not mess with the team too much though.

3 - Dynamo Kiev need to win all of their remaining three matches to give them any hope of reaching the next stage so how do you see them approaching this game?

They will come to keep it tight and get an honourable result. They will try to hold out for a 0-0 and if possible get a chance on the counter or from a set piece.

4 - Kiev reached the semi final of the 1998-99 Champions League but have recently struggled and this season find themselves 10 points behind leaders Shakhtar Donetsk in the league. What do you feel has been the downfall of the Ukrainian's?

I do not know a lot about them but from the outside it seems like money talks, and they have lost good players because of that. The league in the Ukraine does not have enough appeal to keep players such as Shevchenko when the English, Spanish and Italians come calling.

5 - The likes of Marseille, Rosenborg, Shakhtar Donetsk and Rangers all find themselves in good positions at the half way stage of the group fixtures but which side have surpassed your expectations this season in the Champions League and impressed you most?

Rosenborg- capped off tonight by a win in Valencia which was a big shock. But Rangers have also impressed with an incredible win in Lyon and then holding on to draw with Barcelona.

6 - At the opposite end of the scale, which side(s) have failed to live up to expectations and why do you think this is the case of these sides?

The scousers of course. Haha. But Valencia are also doing very badly and look to be out.

7 - After three games, who do you think are the major challengers for this seasons Champions League?

The English teams all have a chance despite Liverpool's bad start but you can never discount the Spanish giants or Milan. In other words, the usual suspects.

8 - Before the fixtrues for the group stages kicked off, United and Roma were the obvious favourites to qualify. Do you think that this is still the case even though Roma now have difficult trips to Kiev and Sporting whilst their last home game is against United?

I think Roma will progress- they are strong team with experience and quality.

9 - Gary Neville sat out of training on Tuesday so it appears he'll be missing from the squad on Wednesday. Who do you think will make the starting eleven?

................Van Der Sar..............

Brown.....Rio.........Vidic.......Evra

Fletcher...Hargreaves...Carrick...Nani

.................Saha........Tevez......

10 - Predict the score and the goal scorers? (Maybe a goal for Rio on his birthday?)

score = United 2 Dynamo Kiev 0

Saha, Nani
