O'Shea Adds to Problems

Manchester United's injury problems have increased with the news that John O'Shea has fractured his ribs.

The Republic of Ireland international sustained the injury during United's 1-0 win over Liverpool last weekend.

O'Shea was forced off at half time of the game at Old Trafford with the problem.

Tests have shown the full extent of the injury with O'Shea sustaining two fractured ribs.

It is expected that the versatile performer will be sidelined for between four to six weeks with the injury.

The injury is another blow for United boss Sir Alex Ferguson who saw Paul Scholes ruled out for the rest of the season earlier on Tuesday with his mystery eye problem.

It means Ferguson may be forced into the transfer market to bring in a midfielder to help ease his injury problems.
