Robson awaits Richardson decision

West Brom boss Bryan Robson says he will know by the end of the week whether Kieran Richardson wants to return to The Hawthorns on loan.

Richardson, 20, had a productive spell with the Baggies last season and Robson is keen to tie up a season-long deal.

"I'll definitely know by the end of the week if Kieran can join us on loan or whether he'll be a United player next week," Robson said.

"It's 50/50 at the moment but if we don't get him I feel we're covered."

Richardson is keen to try and make the grade at Old Trafford this season after breaking into the England squad at the end of last term.

But Robson says he will have more chances to impress if he plays for West Brom.

"He's done great to get in the England squad and if he is a West Brom player or a United player next season, hopefully he can push his way into the England World Cup squad," he said.

"If you're a good enough player you'll get recognition even if you're at a smaller club."
