 MLS All-Stars 2-5 Man Utd
http://www.unitedonline.co.uk/news-and- ... hp?id=3505Quote: Javier Hernandez had a debut to remember as Manchester United recorded an emphatic 5-2 victory over the MLS All-Stars at the Reliant Stadium. Good to see Hernandez get off to a good start with a fine finish. Macheda took his goals well, Gibson showed he can take a decent freekick and the pick of the bunch was Cleverley's quality finish. Be interesting to see how many of these youngsters actually play on a regular basis once the season starts though as we've not exactly come up against any top quality opposition yet in these pre-season games (apart from possibly Celtic).

Cleverley, Macheda, Hernandez and Welbeck all look the real deal. You're right though, in that its hard to see how everyone fits in. I'm not sure what roles Diouf and Owen are going to play this season, but theres no way either should be ahead of Hernandez in the pecking order. Hopefully last nights game changed Fergies mind on Cleverley aswell. He's the most talented midfielder to come through the ranks at this club since the Beckham-Scholes era, theres no way he should be going on loan.
All in all, the squad is looking strong. The only area of weakness for me is backup for Darren Fletcher. With Hargreaves seemingly never coming back, we need another midfielder thats capable of providing the defence with some protection. Maybe Anderson could do the job, but it'd be a waste of his talents.

I still think Macheda and Wellbeck would be better served going out on loan and playing week in, week out for a Premier League side.

If the choice is that, or be 6th-7th choice behind Rooney, Owen, Berbatov, Hernandez and Diouf then i agree with you. But in a perfect world, one of them would go on loan and the other would be our 4th choice striker.

I've not seen anything of Diouf, besides his athleticism, that has remotely impressed me........

I may be proved completely wrong, but from what I've seen Diouf falls into the Dong Fang-Zhou category of utter dogshit uselessness.
I definitely think he needs to be loaned out, along with Wellbeck and possibly Macheda. They all need experience of regular football.
My first four strikers would be:
Rooney Berbatov Hernandez Owen

I'd keep Macheda, but Diouf deffo needs to go somewhere (like a Blackpool) and Wellbeck should go too, the mooted deal for him to go to the Mackems makes perfect sense to me. Wellbeck has shown glimpses but he's a long way off, and I'm with Zain and Menace about Diouf - I've seen f**k all that suggests he is up to it.
